As a "fat hippie old man, myself", or at least a charter member of the senior citizens riders club,
I don't think Pete's trying to make anyone think anything. Just yanking your chain for some
entertainment, as I see it. Not that he needs any defense, but just watch a couple of the last few
videos he's posted and you'll see some good riding on pretty tough trails.

It's up to you whether they inspire you to ride more and better, or make you jealous.

If you feel driven to call him names, compete with him and prove yourself better, or to ssemble the
brothers to "stretch [him] thin on two wheels" post your own videos, and let the world be the judge,
for Pete's sake. Or better yet, meet him somewhere for a ride. I'll bet he'd be civil and even give
you a head start. Who knows, maybe you guys will hit it off. Or not. Stranger things have happened.

Hehe, of course, but that wasn't quite my point - I have several friends / acquaintances who are
rather useful at the national and world cup level.

It's all a bit unnecessary and the 'my friends are better than your friends' is churlish. That
clearly says something about me, because I rose to it :)

I agree, and so does my best mate Steve Peat. Actually I bump in to Nige Page quite a bit, he's well
known around these parts as being a top geezer. Last time I saw him he was on an Intense Uzzi SL in
xc mode, with ickle spd pedals. Rode with him for a while and amazed by his speed uphill, blown away
on the DH's and at the bottom realised he was wearing vans, b*stard wasn't even clipped in...

That clearly says something about me, because I

Yeah, I really don't get that. Dylan was down at the trails last week, as was Hitchcox :)

I've met Nige a couple of times and he seems like a sound bloke.

Nice, I was drinking with Hitchcox at the World's last summer.
