Hi guys,

Just finished (almost - need some bar tape) assembling my third frame into a bike, and thought I'd share some of my pics.

Go to http://www.littlefishbicycles.com/audax_ii_pics/index.html and scroll down towards the bottom for the really juicy stuff.

Henry James lugs, Columbus Zona tubes, and a dash of polished stainless, all painted with white Imron and decorated with decals showing a silly fish. What more could you ask for?

Early test rides indicate that I really should put some bar tape on, but otherwise it handles quite nicely. Here's hoping it lasts a little longer than the last one.

Cheers,

Suzy

Noice. elegant. Noice :D

but why, why, why downtube shifters when you got ergo's ???

PS the white looks real good. whoodathawt?

Beautiful!
All you need is some Stella Azzurra Eleganza bar tape, in royal blue....

30% simplicity
30% knowing what gear I'm in by feel
40% bloody mindedness.

I like my down-tube shifters too.

Love your work Suzy.

Don't forget elegance.

Theo

Beautiful.
The white looks like it's got a deep luster to it, yummy.

Downtube shifters are great for their simplicity, almost elegant.

Feel with your legs and it doesn't matter what levers you use ;-)

Such brutal honesty is in stark contrast to such a gorgeous bike ;-)

So good they have made a movie about it!

Triple, I thought you were more hardcore than that..

*boggle*

That is some glorious, gorgeous work. I especially like how the join between
the seat stays and the seat tube came up. Utterly beautiful stuff.

Have you see the hills near Epping, Siderney?

Don't forget elegance.

or the weight reduction over brifters
or the reduction in cost (brifter bingles are costly!)
but I reckon it's more like 80% bloody mindedness :p

Way to go!

Comined shifter/brake lever as is common on most road bikes now.

They're not too bad, because they're all short. But I know Suzy isn't
afraid to take bikes to different locations, with somewhat longer
hills. Bobbin Head at the end of a long ride can be nice to have a
triple.

Dave - who wasn't going below the 39 ring the other day out of there,
even if I was towing trailer + two kids; A 30-11 cluster is useful.

Hey Suzy,

I'm about to make my own wheel truing stand, and before I design
such a (simple!) beastie, do you have any plans for one? I
was going to do a rough copy of a Minoura stand, not the Park
ones, the elcheapo park stand is a pain to use and the more expensive
ones are too complex.

Pah! Sydney hills are wimpy. Most of them are doable on the fixed wheel.

I used to deride triples, but a couple of hills between Lithgow and Tarana, on a ride out to Cowra at Easter with panniers made me see the error of my ways.

Climbing ~15% hills with panniers is no fun in the 39, even if you do have a 28 at the back.

Cheers,

Suzy
