I just did my first single track overnighter in a long time. I love camping but not what passes for it so frequently these days. We had the forest to ourselves, with only the things we brought with us to adulterate the landscape. Our destination was Feather Falls in the N. Cal. Sierra foothills.
This trail is a perfect intro to MTB packing. Only four miles to the falls on a new style, graded, widish, well draining, fine granite trail surface. It's a mellow grade down on the way in and an easy climb out.
I may never car camp again.
