Hello. I was wondering if buying an old used road bike that's under $100 would be worth getting. I have found alot of scwinn world sport bikes , raliegh marathon, motobecane, peugeot, and some other no name brands. all are 10-18spd. My question is would it be better than my 21spd mountain bike? I only ride on roads and paved trails to and from work everyday. I like my bike now but I need something with more speed. Thank you

I started with a cheapy huffy mountain bike and after a few weeks found a cheapy Puch road bike in a thriftstore for 20.00. Great bike for starting out, it's much lighter and higher quality then the huffy, I guess Puch was ok back in the day.
