  1. hey guys n gals,

ive got some old old shimano altus cranks, the hyperdrive C variety and i was wondering if any of you knew if it was possible to remove the chainrings on them and how, as ive looked at it and cant make any sense of it 😕

(btw there are no allen key bolts i can see to unscrew etc)

    any advice would be appreciated

    cheers 😄

  2. My Shimano TX70/71 cranks are riveted and spot welded, the complete crank set is cheaper than one chainrng for a road bike. 🙂

  3. cheers for ur reply!

and i was pretty sure mine were riveted to, i was just blindly hoping they werent hehe, trying to make a single speed on the mega cheap!

ah well, guess i "have" to buy new cranks for my mtb bike and shift the old one onto the road one hehe

    thanks anyway
