Hi All,
I have moved over from the UK and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good on-line cyclestore in Canada ?
In the UK I bought a lot of equipment and clothing on-line and there is a good number of specialist websites there, but I notice that there does not seem to be so many here? Do you Guys buy mainly from US websites?

MJP1,

You're correct, there is definitely a lack of etailers of all sorts here. This deficiency has been identified by certain banking associations, and is in currently being addressed.
To answer your question, though, there are a few cycling sites out there for us canucks. I'm sure someone will post a few for you. If you're dealing with the US, then be prepared to pay taxes and handling fees to canada customs that you may otherwise not have been required to. That is, of course, unless the goods you are importing is exempt from duties (eg nafta), in which case you'll probably still have to pay taxes. The best scenario is to find someone who is generous enough to send you gifts that are worth CAD$60 or less. See here and good luck. Mike

Welocome to Canada

Canada is very slow on the up take of E-taliers. I have order from the U.K. for several years with good results. The problem that most retail bike stores have here is that there is a second middleman is the equation. First you have your North American distributor and then you have your Canadian distributor, to many people jacking up the price of goods.

My best experiences have been with ebay and LBS that have been loyal with and they give me 20% off on most goods. Apart from the few on-line stores mentioned already I know of a new one here.

I have a 10% off coupon code (Enter coupon code: NC2004 when you check out) that i was given, they have some good products and will have more on-line soon

If recieving goods from the U.S. the best practice is to have it shipped USPS and not UPS or Fedx.

Welcome.

Here is a link to a predominately MTB retailer based on the East Coast...Cape Breton......

www.ramsays-online.com

Here is a link for road stuff........

www.canadiancyclist.com

and a link for a shop in Toronto.....

www.velotique.com

I agree with the above poster......Ebay is a great place to find gear and clothing. I have made 12 buys from US sellers and only paid tax/duty on 2 of them. Clothing seems like it rarely gets attention from customs.

It's very strange, do you buy goods from China directly? the price is very cheap, and the quality is good as well! most of Amercia goods are imported from China!

Any one want to know more information in China market, please feel free to let me know!

How about Mountain Equipment Coop? They have shops across Canada an also sell online. I buy most of my clothing from MEC, It is the best value for the money, but rarely cheap.

I've got some pro team and European style (eg. Santini, DeMarchi) cycling wear if anyone's interested. 'Nuff Said. Just see my signature.

Hey folks,

Another online store...

I am a little biased, since it's mine. Its brand new...

www.bikeophile.com

I actually have a contest running right now through March17. There will be lots of prizes given away, including a Chris King Headset.

Please let me know what you think!

I'm a little bias too, as this is my site. I'm from Canada. So it would be worth taking a look at.
