Of course, a trendy position didn't seem to slow Alberto Contador. On the other hand, it looks as though he could get a little more oxygen into his lungs if he came up a centimeter or so.

For reference, here's the cannibal on the tops, looking quite aero except for the elbows:

And here he is on the hoods:

And here's Kelly catching wind next to a sleeker Stephen Roche:

Yes, noone could argue with the fact that Contador was flying up the hills.
See if you can find some pics of Lance and Lemond to compare.
Noone can argue that the Cannibal was fast.
I think I got into the mistake of trying to look like a pro, based off thinking that they rode the much smaller frames, but like others have said, everyone is different, my legs are long for my height, and my arms. My torso I think stopped growing or I would be over six feet tall. On the other hand, I have always said that I just have bigger pistons, but I had to let them be able to work to their potential, and when I got on the bigger bike, I could feel the difference. Now after three weeks back on this bike, tweaking as I go in small increments, I have gotten the saddle to a point where I feel like I am putting power to the pedals in an efficient powerful way with less effort than before. My neck and shoulders feel relaxed, on and after the rides. I still think I could come up a bit more on the bars, but I am going to take the time to go in small steps. I can tell that I can ride in the drops more comfortably, and not feel like I am restricting my breathing. I have no way of quantifying this scientifically, this is perceived exertion and hearrate, but at this time of year, I am keeping that low anyway. Note here: I have found that my speed is higher at the lower hearrate than before. I also feel much better climbing.
