Jacques-Maynes declared Master's women 30-34 'cross champion

Colorado Springs, Colo. (January 24, 2008)--Due to a violation of rules
1H4 and 1A29 of the 2007 USA Cycling Rulebook, the results of the
Master's Women 30-34 category at the 2007 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross
National Championships have been revised.

Original winner Maureen Bruno-Roy (Arlington, Mass.) has been declared
ineligible after it was determined she violated Rule 1H4 which states:
Riders classified as Elite under rule 1A29 may not enter master's
races in a discipline for which they have Elite status and subsequent
Rule 1A29 which states: An Elite rider is one who...has a racing age of
30 years or older and has competed in any elite UCI World Cups, World
Championships, Pan American Games, Pan American Championships or
Olympic Games within the current calendar year.

Lemma tell ya about a regular here named Alan who absolutely busts his
ass, here in New England, and for the last couple of Cross Nats, to
make sure this **** didn't and doesn't happen.
I know how much work went in to check on every rider there was a
question about, and all the calls and e-mails to the Springs.
Not to slam the KC folks, but to give props and credit where it's
due.
The man deserves a shitload of thanks for all the detail work he puts
in.

The KC officials crew was not up to the level that we have become
accustomed to. I know Diane was there, but she was just scoring.
They used local talent at the top level, from what I saw. Someone can
correct me if I am wrong.

Alot more to officiating natz then taking numbers on race day.
