Im a keen triathlete a friend who works at bike shop can get mw the new 2004 Merida carbon frame with full carbon seat post, fork, etc. Full durace 10sp, zipp 404 tubular wheelset, a top set of tri bars and carbon cranks for $7000, is this an alright price i know its good quality gear just got a quiery on Merida frames?

    $7k is HEAPS of money! I think you need to look around a bit before committing that much to a bike.
    How much riding are you doing a week? What sort of training do you do? Have you been sizes for this
    frame? Have you test ridden a variety of bikes? I don't want to dampen your spirits, just be wary of
    spending 7 grand on a bike with insufficient research. You may end up with a very expensive bike
    that doesn't suit you...

    I don't know what level you are competing at, but you could get a bike that is only
    _marginally_ slower for half that amount. Remember, it's the engine that makes the most
    difference, not the bike! :-)
