Ortlieb Pannier Issue

The fixtures which connect the panniers via its rails to the rack have come off twice now and unfortunately they are designed in such a way where they cannot be reattached to the rails. Now I do love my panniers but after this has happend twice on the way to work, i feel less than confident taking them further than a local trip. Not particularly great given that i want to use them touring. Hoping its a problem that can be remedied as I've heard nothing but positive reports about the panniers in various corners. Where have the come off?
Which rails are you speaking of?
I have traveled cross country with mine several times without any issues, but mine are attached to a Tubus rack and they used to be attached to Bruce Gordon rack; both tubular steel racks.

By the rails, I mean the rail (black plastic) which you can slide back and forward the brackets which then attach to the pannier. Hope that clarifies things

You always wonder when you read these posts, but you arent kidding us right?

Of course you can put the hooks back in the rail! I have a ql2(?) setup on my ortliebs, you unhook the lokc that prevents them from sliding around on the rail, you slide them to the middle of the rail, and then they come off.

If you reverse this procedure, then they go back on!
