Just for kicks and giggles, I recently started posting to
misc.legal.moderated. I'm only interested in a few of the subjects,
but I'll give a professional response in areas that I know well. I
also noticed that Seth Breidbart, despite his sporadic postings here,
posts nearly every day in that newsgroup.
So, Seth ... do the moderators there only allow posts consistent with
their political beliefs? One of the moderators, a Bernie Cosell,
asked about the validity of presidential "signing statements" on
federal legislation. His post was obviously a shot at Bush, but
that's fair. I found this memorandum from one of Clinton's assistant
attorney generals, explaining to Clinton's counsel why the President
was legally justified in making such statements:

It was an official Department of Justice document, and I posted it
with a polite lead-in: "Well, here's a statement by President
Clinton's counsel as to why Clinton found them justifiable."
My response to that question never made it through the moderator's
filters, although several others did, and several of my posts have
made it through before. That leads me to question: Are only
politically correct responses allowed?
