I saw them (for Goldfrapp is the name of the band as well) at Hammersmith

Oh blimey, she's sexy and wonderful standing stock still. I don't need
her to dance about :-) But actually she does a bit with the new dancier
music, and her signing is "animated" anyway. However, I must admit the
instrumentation sounded just like the CDs (and was too loud in the mix).
And I don't need the band to be physically animated, I always just stare
at the singer.

Longer answer: My chum Mr. Bird averred that Black Rebel Motorcycle

They got a lot more melodic after that. But the little bits of BRMC I've
heard did sound a bit JAMC influenced to me, too.

I've sadly way out of touch with the current music scene now. I used to
think it would be a sign of old age if ever gave up being obsessed with
music, but what happens is, you just get fed up of having to trawl though
so much [censored] so find the gems. I still love the few good records I do
occasionally hear/buy now just as much as I ever did, and the good/bad
ratio is still probably the same, just that my patience for the bad ran
out :-(

We were miles away at the back, and Mrs Larrington doesn't fancy Alison
Goldfrapp much anyway :-) Actually, she's rather derogatory about the way
she looks these days...

I'm known for being a big Marillion fan (I noticed a big prog following
here in this thread) but I'll listen to just about everything, except
Opera, heavy Hip-Hop, Slipknot/Korn/Limp Bizkit type stuff, the Darkness
and Wet Wet Wet. I just bought four albums today:

This is Hope - The Mull Historical Society
Rewired - Mike + The Mechanics
Songs About Jane - Maroon 5

Dont ask me what their like yet cos I haven't listened to them. The
Deepest Blue one is sublime so far though.

Queen worshipper here. Mercury is my God. Apparently this particular
mystical aberration is quite common among cyclists.

I'm of my generation. Doors, Osibisa, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Moody

It is from the Born in the USA album, but it's a line from No Surrender.

I'm a totally hardcore Springsteen fan, love all his albums, but my all time

Counting Crows, Sheryl Crow, Anastacia, Muddy Waters, Van Morrison, Simon &
Garfunkel, Lez Zeppelin, Chemical Brothers, John Mellencamp, ABBA (my first
ever music love!). Lots more, too many to type.

Amusingly (Or disturbingly) my music collection includes a fair
proportion of the above despite very few of them being "my generation".
I blame my mother personally. An abiding memory of my childhood was Neil

But only with Fish! Too many favourites to do them justice, but Tux On
(B-Sides Themselves), Sugar Mice (Clutching At Straws) and Ricochet
(Fugazi) sprint to mind.

Saw them relatively recently when they were doing a random university
tour. I don't like the new material as much (Specifically, I don't like
the vocals) but they are the slickest live act I've ever seen.

I went to see Marilyn Manson in Glasgow a while back and was very amused
by the crowd. The fans were all 15 year old "part-time goths" who were

The funniest was one girl who's father had opted to come and was doing
his best to fit in. He was suitably attired in black trousers and a
black silk shirt.

It would have been a better gig had the kids in the mosh pit not run out

about three other people moshing!

Oh, come on! Blink 182 is like EARLY this CENTURY! Evanescence are already
mainstream they've been around so long.

Supertramp? They're all dead of old age, aren't they? The RHCP are still
alive, but they should have died before they made the last album.

Billy Joel? I think my granddad used to have some of his stuff on vinyl.

And that's a good indicator, BTW. Did their music ever appear on vinyl? If it
did, it's DEFINITELY OFM[TM].
