The last time we had one of those discussions about where bikes are sourced, I quoted a somewhat
optimistic article from the Wall Street Journal about the future of manfacturing in the US .

In the interest of fairness, I feel I should now point out that they are running a series called
"Left Behind: Casualties of a Changing Job Market." The Monday, July 21 front page story reads: "
...The task of making these goods is increasingly being assumed by more efficient machines and
processes. Or they've been transferred to workers who earn less and live in another country. While
these changes have been going on to a limited extent for years, the economic slowdown has greatly
accelerated and broadened this historic shift."

Or as Bruce Springsteen put it, "These jobs are goin' boys, and they ain't comin' back."
