Honestly, the McD will kill you when you are not sick. Why anyone in
their right mind would eat that garbage when they are sick is beyond me!
He's not listening to his body and is fighting the healing process. I
think the OP compounded his flu problem and got exactly what he deserved.

Exactly! Why on earth people *refuse* to listen to their bodies when
they are sick is beyond my scope. Simple common sense tells you a steak
is going to be too hard to digest after a bout of the flu. I think it
really isn't the flu anyway as the true flu will knock you on your ass
for a couple of weeks then take another week or two to fully feel like
yourself let alone trying to eat a steak! In this case, I concur with
the replier, notbob, and feel this is something best left not discussed.
In reading through the OP's previous threads, his whining is a normal
trend and one best left in the bozo bin.

I did that to myself the first day I came down with a Salmonella
infection. Knew I was sick, just not with what.

Ate Taco Bell tacos.

Big mistake.

After 3 days of being unable to keep anything down but water, I called
in sick to work and reported to our ER......

An IV shot of Demerol later, I was feeling a lot better. <lol>

The flu is a respiratory ailment, not gastric. Any time I have had gastric
problems or been on antibiotics I go for yoghurt. Even better is Kefir. It
will restore the intestinal flora that helps you digest food.

True and by definition of influenza, the OP *did not* have the flu
although he may have had flu like symptoms. The flu does not attack the
stomach or intestinal tract

Since the OP was experiencing gatrointestinal problems then one would
have to say he was suffering from something other than the flu. Since
whatever he had is obviously not the flu he should listen to his body
and take it easy on his gastrointestinal tract for a few days. That
means avoiding hard to digest foods *until* all symptoms are alieviated
and then for maybe even a day or two. He makes no indication of trying
to help himself other than getting tired of chicken broth after a day or
two to the point he put garbage into his body instead of trying to
nourish it to help it heal. You are wise to eat yogurt when on
antibiotics to re-establish your intestinal flora. It is a sensible
thing to do as well as giving your body the proper nutrients to help it
heal. I'm well acquainted with influenze. It too almost 6 weeks for me
to get over my last bout, one of the reasons I get a yearly flu shot.
Those thinking they have the flu over an illness that last a day or two
*do not* have the flu. My opinion.

For me it's chicken soup. I think it's a viral infection isn't it? It's
not gastric as you said. Gawd... if it was gastric I'd be a mess. IMO it
is just something we get and get over.
