Back in 2002 I bought a heart rate monitor from Lidl for
£17.99. I got it out a week or so ago to use it and it
failed to work. Changed the batteries, still no luck. Not to
worry it has a 3 year warranty and I retained the receipt. I
wasn't too hopeful of actually getting a repair/replacement
for such a cheap item from such a supplier but nonetheless I
phoned the number. The person at the other end told e they'd
sold the warranties for these devices to another company -
SelectTV in Bristol. He gave me their number. I called them
and the lady there told me to return the unit. Less than a
week later I receive a brand new heart rate monitor and it
looks like a better model too.
