I was busy during the game, so I missed it. But I have seen the highlights
on ESPN, and it certainly was dramatic. Truth is, I don't care (or know)
much about either team.

I do have some interest in the Packers game next weekend. But none of this
matters much, because it sure looks like the Pat's year.

Mild-mannered, completely calm J.

Roethlisberger - an army of ONE!

THROW THE BALL AWAY!

52 sacks for almost 400 yards lost this year! You can't blame the
offensive line for Roethlisberger's stupid playing. I blame the offensive
coordinator for giving Roethlisberger such a free hand.

This is the same guy who kamikazied a Buick on his motorcycle without a
helmet last year and your going to trust him to make that many decisions
on the field? DOH!

I can't remember the last time I saw Roethlisberger throw the ball away.

He jumps out of the pocket looking to make HERO plays and instead of
throwing the ball away he gets sacked or intercepted.

Four of the Hunkies' six loses this season were to chump teams and Miami
almost beat them.

At least they didn't lay down - it was an exciting game....

The upside of it is football is over until next August and I can go back
to riding again on Sundays.

You are right: Big Ben has poor judgment now, but he is young and I expect
him to improve. With good coaching.

OK; enough of this casual chat! Let's talk about more important issues -

Just curious: you don't care (or know) much about either team, yet you
started a thread about the Steelers going all the way even though you're
interested in the Packers a bit but think it's the Pats' year. In a cycling
newsgroup.

Got it.

100% correct.

That is why I led the subject line with the magic letters 'OT'.

So that people who are interested in BOTH cycling and the NFL, can have
one-stop-Usenet-shopping.

But that doesn't explain why you started a thread concerning something about
which you know and care little. Makes no sense.

Like, whatever, dude...

Chas,

You've never had a car cut you off when you're riding a bicycle?
The Burgh is full of retirees that can't drive.
He was proceeding with the right away through the intersection where
he had a green light.
Looks like you're turning this into a helmet thread.
Good luck surviving a 35 mph collision, with or without a helmet.

Ride safe.
It wasn't the Steelers year, even with a healthy Willie.

It's winter in Chicago. That much snow and gloom can drive a man mad.

Hey look! Snorti participated in an OT thread and didn't screw up the
subject line!

Hide your head in the sand. Steelers are minced.

Years ago, I had some emotional investment in pro teams. But these
days, I am more interested in individual personalities and personal
stories than the team as a whole. With the Steelers, l am somewhat
interested in Ben's story, since he was drafted. Regarding the
Packers, I like to watch Favre play. Next season, I might pay some
attention to Miami, because I admire what Parcells can do for a team.
And I am always curious how Chuckie is doing in Tampa Bay.

I try to get enthused about the NFL playoffs, because when they are
over, it is just the NBA until the baseball season starts. I have not
cared for basketball since Jordan retired (the last time).

I don't mind the cold, but what does make me crazy is a 7-Jan Chicago
forecast of scattered thunderstorms and a high of 63 F! I think they
said a 100-year record may fall. I was just getting used to winter.

I'll see your thunderstorm and raise you a tornado!
