Last long weekend (Fri/Mon) A friend and I rode from Montreal to Brooklyn with another friend driving behind and ahead with the luggage, tent and cooking duties. We had 6 innertube changes and one tyre change between us over the 420 miles each, which I think is fairly average and certainly not something I'm upset about.

That said .......... can you share your experience with effective slimes, grimes, pastes, inner bands, kevlar, carbon or any other devise to reduce oily fingers and road side delays.

Thanks.

in these days of kevlar tyres and such, the number of punctures is very much lower.

I carry a spare tyre on long trips in case of severe damage (something like a Vittoria Rubino Pro is cheap, cheerful and nice enough to ride).
