I'll be heading into Civic on Friday morning - about what time do you
usually get through Woden and onto Adelaide Avenue?

To be fair, I'll be cheating a bit - I need to drop my truck off at
the mechanic at Tuggeranong, so my first 7km will be lazy. ;-)

G'day BT. No bunch ride organised for Friday yet, so I won't be heading
through Woden at 5:30 am! I usually leave Wanniassa around 7:50-8:00 ish
(depending on the how cooperative the kids are of a morning!). Takes me
about 15 min to get onto Adelaide Ave, so that makes it 8:05-8:15. Sorry
I can't be more specific (dang them chil'en). I can take it slow along
Adelaide if I arrive there early or fang it to catch ya! :)

My top speed is only about 35km/h when I'm aboard Aaargh, so I suspect
that you'll be catching me. ;-)

Well, Big W but near enough. ;-)

I'll crack 800km on it this afternoon, and break even financially on
Friday morning (I had a nasty headcold and didn't cycle last week).

Sorry I missed you BT. I came past the Yamba confound-about just after
8:00 am and slowed for a bit (fairly easy in the strong northerly).
After it became clear you were either miles in front or miles behind I
jumped onto the wheel of a guy who came whizzing by (I thought if you
were ahead then using his wheel would be the best way to catch you). He
nearly flogged me to death all the way to the lake but you were nowhere
to be seen! Next time.

I made it there all right, but I was probably well behind you. The
wind, the Big W bike and my general level of unfitness after last
week's cold slowed me way the hell down. I was pleasantly surprised
that just this time the wind didn't swing around to the South during
the day so that I could enjoy a headwind in the afternoon too. ;-)

The best news is that I've achieved break-even! :-D

Get thee behind me, Accountant! ;-)

Well... kinda. It might be time to get some slick tyres for it now.
