Patching Small Hole in Leather Saddle

I have an older (C1996) and much beloved Selle Italia Turbomatic II
saddle. Recently, I have worn through the leather cover along the
flank of the saddle where my inner thigh rubs the saddle while
pedaling.

Since the saddle is in otherwise excellent condition, I am looking for
recommendations on materials to patch the small hole (approx. 1 cm x
0.5 cm) in the saddle. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

Instead of patching the hole, consider replacing the entire cover.
This approach gets around the problem of seam or stitch rub against
your leg. Try an auto or motorcycle seat reupholstering shop.
