When I do a search on Google for peanut butter cookies I find hundreds of
recipes. I want to make cookies someone has tried and can vouch for.

These are soft and chewy. If stored in an air-tight container they
will stay fresh for several days.

    Peanut Butter Crinkle Cookies

    1/2 cup butter
    1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
    1/2 cup granulated sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
    3/4 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/3 cup granulated sugar

Cream together butter, peanut butter, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and
brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs. Beat well.
Mix flour, soda, and salt together with a wire whisk. Blend flour
mixture into creamed mixture. Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls, roll
in 1/3 cup granulated sugar, and place 2 inches apart on greased
cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cookies
should be soft, but set, and light brown in color. Cool slightly on
cookie sheet then remove to rack to cool completely. Makes about 2
    dozen cookies.
