Pedal float and knee injury?

Thanks again for all the info and advice - I always learn something
everytime I read this board. So just to close this topic - I bought
Novara Randonee and went with Shimano M540 pedals. And bought new
shoes and cleats. And had cleat installed with some fitting process
- had to pedal big metal blocks with red and white sticks on side -
not sure about theory behind that but looks like it might have done
the trick. I am satisfied with M540 - they do not have a lot of
float but it feels that feet can rotate more freely than with M520s
and old cleats. So far I had no knee problems on that bike.
