01.01.07 - Pedal's 2006 Canadian Cycling Award Winners. Prémont Wins Best Overall Award

January 1/06 – Pedal Magazine is pleased to announce the winners of its 2006 Canadian Cycling Award Winners as chosen by readers from across Canada at pedalmag.com. The big winner this year was Marie-Hélène Prémont (QC) winning three categories: Best Overall Cyclist, Best Overall Senior/U23 Female Cyclist and Best MTB Cyclist.

Quebec continued to dominate with David Veilleux usurping Ryder Hesjedal and Michael Barry to win Best Road Cyclist, while Canadian road champ, Dominique Rollin, took the Best Overall Senior/U23 Male Cyclist award. Alberta's Eric Smith swept the Best Overall Junior Male Cyclist while the Best Overall Junior Female Cyclist award went to Quebec's Karol-Ann Canuel.
