  1. Do any of you guys use this non specific performance apparel (Under Armour, Nike, pretty much all athetic manufacturers make some spin off of the moisture wicking, compression clothing) while you are riding? I was just wondering if anyone else did or if I should just stick with cycling jerseys? Thanks!

I use ASSOS Jerseys and Bibs. Great stuff!

  3. I use UnderArmour, EMS, Patagonia, etc. Most of the clothing I can use interchangeably between my road biking and hiking/backpacking. I get most of my stuff from EMS, REI when they have their big 50% off sales. Just got 3 pr. of 6 panel riding shorts for $21.00 ea, and a bike jersey for $19.00.

    i couldnt agree more.

althought i would NOT ride more than a FEW miles without dedicated "cycling" shorts, i try to buy most other items to be as multi functional as possible.

one fabric i HIGHLY recommend is "dry-star" (usually found in "starter" brand). i started wearing it at the gym, and its wicking properties are great! i can train CV for 2 hours at the gym and leave with shorts that are 98% dry. 🙂

i recently found some dri-star shirts at WM or target that are cut like jerseys with a 1/4 zip neck, and a loose bottom hem. (but no back pockets) i REALLY like these for some cycling trips. they "appear" to me to be the same fabric that nike uses in their running product line, but sell for $10-15 instead of $35-50 for the nike items. these are the coolest/driest shirts ive EVER found for cycling! 😄
