New groupsets, clothing, cameras and more – Eurobike is certainly THE place to be to see all the latest and greatest from the bike industry. Today we have a look at new gear from Castelli, Sram, Rudy Project, Cycliq, Rotor & Shimano. Groupsets were the big talking point at Eurobike this year with Sram in particular getting huge amounts of attention at the show for their new RED eTAP groupset. The eTAP is Sram’s first foray into electronic shifting and not content to just follow the trend of Shimano and Campagnolo they’ve come out straight away with a fully wireless system with a racecar inspired paddle shifting system.Talking to the guys at Sram they were super excited about their work but not just because of its ultra rapid shifting and wireless capabilities they were also pushing the fact that yes, it’s technologically advanced but it’s also extremely simple with a quick charging, removable and interchangable battery on each derailleur and with no wires at all setting up a system on a bike is easier than ever.To see the system on an actual bike and escape the massive crowds at the Sram booth I headed over to Focus where one of Romain Bardet’s Ag2R team bikes with RED eTAP was on display.This was a pre production unit but apart from a couple of cosmetic differences this is the same groupset that you will be able to buy.One change from the production model is that the battery at the rear of each derailleur...
