Either everyone in the peloton must use them or no one. Can you imagine the carnage if the guy in front of you slams on his disk brakes and you just crash into the back of him as your rim brakes are not so responsive. You can lock-up your wheels with rim brakes and skid, so do you need anymore braking power? Also what comes to mind, are the tires up to the job of taking this kind of braking.
