Race Report: Norways Alex Kristoff took his second Monument, to go with his 2014 Primavera win, on Sunday afternoon in Oudenaarde leaving QuickSteps canny Dutchman, Niki Terpstra in his jet wash. Greg Van Avermaet made the podium again with third spot after last years second place, beating Peter Sagan to the line.As former Peugeot pro, Scotsman Billy Bilsland always says, the race was the last hour . . .The break of the day took around 30 minutes to form after the usual early flurries it was Matthew Brammeier (MTN-Qhubeka), Jesse Sergent (Trek Factory Racing), Damien Gaudin (AG2R-La Mondiale), Ralf Matzka (Bora), Clment Venturini (Cofidis), Dylan Groenewegen (Team Roompot), Lars Ytting Bak (Lotto Soudal) and Marco Frapporti (Androni) going down the road under a bright spring sky.The gap peaked at seven minutes with Sky and Knees in particular – making sure there was no huge fissure opening up as we said last week, the days of the break going 17 minutes are gone. Katusha leant a hand although itll be hard for Kristoff to win given that no one will cooperate with him in the finale.Oudenaarde for the first time past Pezs favourite bar, the Carillon, aaahhhhh!The Oude Kwaremont and the sun has brought out the fans but the third time up here none of these eight riders will be in the frame.
