I did a group ride on Saturday that is still baffling me.
I started the ride really struggling with the sensation of my hamstrings and right calf knotting up and as if my quadriceps were going to cramp during the first 10 miles of our group ride. My breathing was very labored and my heart rate felt as if it were abnormally high.
I thought all of this was from fatigue from training pretty hard indoors through out the week, but at about 25 miles into the ride everything improved and I was riding normal so it couldn't have been fatigue or could it?
All of the sensations of cramping, labored breathing and high heart rate went away later in the ride and at the end of 53 miles I was riding pretty good. However, my legs were extremely sore about an hour after getting home. The next day I had another pretty good training session of SST.
