Planar Fasciitis

I've battled plantar fasciitis for the past 5 or so years. It isn't
constant, but rather comes and goes. Cycling is one activity that I can
do regularly without making the problem worse or without pain. Using
clipless pedals also keeps the foot placement such that it stretches
the tendons. All in all, i think cycling has helped me. Cheers.

I've got turf toe (inflammation of the joint between
the big toe and the metatarsal) and while running will
flare it up huge, cycling doesn't even acknowledge it.
May even have helped keep it from recurring due to walking.
I think having super-stiff-soled cycling shoes with proper
sizing and support is a key. If my foot isn't flexing at
all, it's not flexing in the wrong way, and it's certainly
not getting any impacts, which are key, because the thing that
can almost certainly flare up that joint is an inadvertent
heel-toe slap on hard ground (or astroturf).
