Hey gear-heads,
The Polar S720i HRM is finally available here in the US. Mine arrived today. It's functionally
equivalent to the Polar S710i (the "i" meaning that you can finally do an IrDa link without using
the separate IR interface). Interestingly enough, the packaging (the box) is *not* the nice sturdy
plastic case shipping with most of the S-series models. It came in a rather plain cardboard box, not
too unlike the one the A-series ship in.
The receiver appears to be slightly thicker (yikes!) but that might be due to the shiny metallic
housing making it appear to be bigger. The buttons have a nice tactile feel to them. Overall it's a
sharp looking piece of equipment. I've enjoyed my S710 and am now looking forward to really wearing
this one out on the bike this season.
