Police are seeking help to identify a cyclist who was struck by a car in Malaga this morning. The cyclist was one of two bike riders hurt in separate incidents today.

At 7.30am the cyclist was trying to cross Beach Road near Oxleigh Drive on a red Malvern Star bicycle when he was struck by a small white sedan travelling east. The cyclist was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital where he is underwent surgery and is in intensive care in a serious condition.

The injured man, who is believed to be in his forties, had no ID on him at the time and was not coherent.

He was wearing dark pants and shoes, a light blue polo shirt with red and black markings and a black woollen jumper. The cyclist was carrying a small blue satchel, containing a wrap type sandwich and smoking tobacco and was not wearing a helmet.

Police are also questioning someone over a hit-and-run incident in Mosman Park, where a cyclist suffered leg and shoulder injuries. Police said the man was knocked from his pushbike on Stirling Highway, near Wellington Street, just after 8.20am. The cyclist was taken to Fremantle Hospital for treatment.

Anyone with information about either of these incidents can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
