Polyphasic sleeping, exercise and weight gain

I tried polyphasic sleeping for about 2 months. It was excellent :) Except I gained weight in that time. But every day I would force myself to do a 8-10km run, or 1 hour bike ride. I watched my meals closely (you have to eat more if you're up for 20 hours a day). I weighed myself before and I was 70 kilo's exactly. After 2 months of polyphasic sleeping, and exercise at least 6 days a week, I weighed
74.5 kilo's. I had gained weight!

I read up on it and sleep deprivation/loss will cause the body to produce more cortisol, and produces more insulin (i think thats right). I had sugar cravings REAL bad after each of my 30 minute naps and my core sleep of 3 hours. So basically, my body was storing fat as just as much, if not more, than the fat and muscle I was burning. Wierd huh?

Sleep deprivation also causes long rambling posts that
interest no one except the person who wrote it. Go to sleep
buttercup.
