So I decided I am going to go for Boston. My shin is
recovering from the fracture nicely. I saw an athletic
trainer and he thought if I do everything right I can get my
sorry ass across the line.
So I've been pool running my ass off. I did 2.5 hours in it
last sunday and have been logging a lot of 1-2 hour
workouts in the pool. I have been running with the belt. I
have a body fat of about 5% and can't float for the life of
me. I have heard some people on the group say it doesn't
count if you use a belt, but I can't even run without it. I
find it screws my form up and I end up treading water
rather than running.
In addition I am doing 30-60 min of elliptical 1-2
times/week. I think if I can integrate a little running into
my regimen over the next six weeks I will have a fighting
chance at finishing.
Has anyone heard any stories of people pulling off marathons
on schedules like this?
Thanks, Joe
