  1. Hello,

I'm reading "Between Heaven and Earth" (Beinfield & Korngold), and I
recently did the 5-phase typology questionnaire included to figure out
    my type.

The questionnaire is broken up into two sections: psychological and
    physiological.

In the psychology questionnaire, I was a clear metal & water
type--both scores were high, and strongly resonated with the way I see
    my personality.

My physiology questionnaire, however, left me thinking I'm a wood type
(something confirmed by a Taoist practioner in the area), with
moderate showings in fire & earth. Pretty much the OPPOSITE of my
    psychological profile.

The book doesn't really say what to do when your physiological and
psychological profiles are different, much less opposing.

Is it possible I misread who I "really" am and just read what I've
become through experience and social environment's shaping? In this
case, my physiological profile would seem more reliable.

It's a bit confusing, because I don't know how I should be trying to
achieve balance--by focusing in on the metal/water psych type, or wood
    physiological type....?

Any help would be really appreciated!!!!

I'm not familiar with the book in question, or the questionnaire, but I'm
disappointed that it has led you to believe that one is supposed to be at
the same phase in all aspects of self at the same time.

It would be entirely consistent for a strong metal and water system (your
psychological system) to produce an abundance of wood - the fact that this
wood manifests physiologically is not overly surprising.

Probably because that's a situation that's complex, and many factors need to
    be taken into account.

    It's possible.

It's possible that your system is already balanced, in that you have one set
of signs that balance the other. However, if you are experiencing health
problems, then what you have is a complex imbalance. One would then either
proceed carefully and experimentally down a likely-looking path, or see a
    qualified Chinese medicine practitioner.
