I think Ullrich is going to be extra motivated toward trying to achieve a podium finish and to finally get T-Mobile a stage win. If he goes fast, he can catch Kloden and maybe Basso.

Armstrong will probably ride hard as a point of honor, but he'll probably be taking the corners carefully because he doesn't want to crash out for a few seconds that are ultimately going to be unneeded on Sunday.

So I think it's going to be Ullrich, Kloden and Armstrong.

Marv...dare I notice that you have quite a veiled disdain for Lance? I think that he will be the second fastest guy on Saturday, he will win Tour #6,and he will repreent Texas better than anyone else is doing in this day and age! I agree with the others who suggest that you are jealous of the superior talent of Lance...who is probably one of the most intense cyclists since Merkx. BTW...who needs Heras when Asevedo serves just as strongly!?

Haha. Guess you'll have to console Lance again, ehh, Marv?

    Armstrong
    Ullrich
    Kloden

I've also been a bit off on my predictions...but I don't think Lance wants to give even one second to his competition. At least, that's what it looked like yesterday.

    Ullrich
    Armstrong
    Pereiro

As i've said on another thread, Ullrich beat Basso by exactly 6 minutes last year on stage 12 TT Gaillac - Cap' Découverte over 47km. From what i can make out the course this year is similarly tough, and i do believe Ullrich has a chance to make up the deficit to Basso.

Same. I just have the feeling that LA wants to win a fifth stage and make this his greatest tour, even if it isn't quite as safe. After all, he has plenty of cushion with which to take risks and assert himself and finish off his claim to being the one of the greatest ever. If he were to win after what he did in the mountains, and did so convincingly, I know it would seperate him from Indurain in my estimation.
