Hi there

Please let me know if this thread has already been discussed.

Is there a way of calculating your power output without using any cycling computers?
AND
Is there any other computer (bar SRM) that calculates the power output? and how much would those be?

Cheers

Simon

Without a proper power-measuring (PM) device like SRM, PT, Polar....you are going to be relying on estimates.

Mind you an estimate can be a good thing if you can successfully reduce the variables. For me that equates to long, steady climbs where aerodynamics and wind will play a relatively small factor vs. in the flats where these 2 things are major components.

I would not try to estimate power for a flat or variable terrain route - you can, but I do not.

So find a hill/climb, record you information, then go to analyticcycling.com and plug in your numbers. You'll get a ballpark figure for power.
