Sounds like a bullet proof setup. If it's just for training you could save money and go with the regular PT Pro. You can get basically the same thing prebuilt from Quality Wheelhouse: http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/WH308B10-Quality+Wheelhouse+Powertap+Pro+07.aspx?sc=QBIKE&x=y
I'm also planning to get a powertap, but I'm leaning towards a DT 1.2 rim with either 24 or 28 bladed spokes. I want a powertap wheel for both racing and training.
Maybe someone has some comments on what I am thinking about for a Powertap wheelset:
Hub: Powertap Pro - 576g
Rim: DT Swiss 1.2, 24 spoke - 585g
Spokes: DT Swiss Aerolite - 108g
total - 1269g
I weigh 68kg, and I plan to use it as my everyday wheel for both racing (road race, maybe crits and TT) and training. I like the DT 1.2 rim for looks and the low spoke count, but I'm not sure if there are better options. Would I be better off saving some money by using DT Revolutions instead or the Aerolites? I'm trying to keep the price around $1k, so a Zipp/PowerTap SL wheel is out of my price range.
