Look here.
It allows a rider to preload the wheel bearings correctly. With too much preload, bearing friction goes up and bearing life goes down. With too little preload, the wheel can move too much side to side, and bearing life goes down.

yah i see how it works, but how do i figure out the fight amount/spot?
