I'm always telling people that one of the good things about cycling is
how it'll save you money, this sort of infomation will make a liar
of me 🙂

Hmm, winter's coming ... there must be some new cold/wet weather gear
that I need 🙂

Hmmm, good point.

I rode through last winter without mudguards but had to replace
my record headset in the summer. Being a mountain biker mainly,
I'd just assumed the headset would cope... Bad move. Still, my
fault I guess, I shouldn't have expected race quality components
to perform outside their fairly narrow design brief.

Are those SKS Race blades any good, anyone?

Specifically, does the front guard keep the headset protected
against crud and water thrown up from the wheel?

Any other advice greatfully accepted.

Cycling definitely costs money as opposed to saving money. Any savings
are immediately reinvested into better bike equipment plus more besides.
Wiggle is making me poor!
