Oh great, wrongway pavement cycling. The riskiest cycling there is if there are intersections involved.

No doubt his heart is in the right place but did he consult a wide range of
cyclists on this? Some might have told him to make sure the roads in new
developments are good for cycling, as well as having some paths where they
are really needed. Last thing you want is apartheid, where the motor car
still rules the streets.

Just heard from a friend that the new CEO of the City of Sydney Council was
on 702 ABC this morning and spent half the interview talking about making
Sydney CBD and surrounds better for cyclists. Hope she lasts longer than the
last CEO.

I'll agree it's positive that Norman has got his heart in the right place, but regarding the pic used, maybe the photographer asked him to pose nicely on a nearby shared path? We simply don't know.

And I hope the new CEO words are more than a bunch of meaningless platitudes and/or motherhood statements uttered to calm down the local tifosi. 😉
