Hey,

I figured a lot of you know more than me about cycling so I was wondering if I could get some help.

I recently bought a pair of carbon sole triathlon shoes. I am going on the Great Victorian Bike Ride later in the year (600km in 9 days) and I was wondering if anyone out there has any ideas for protecting the cleats and the carbon sole, seeing as there will be a bit of walking involved. I've heard that Kool Kovers are good, but I'm also wondering if there's anything for protecting the carbon sole. (Is it essential to protect the sole?)

I also do triathlons, so anyone that has ideas for protecting the shoe and prolonging the life of the shoe during a race, as well as tips in regards to transition, your help would be greatly appreciated.
