I'm quite new to the mtb world, I've been riding about 4
months now. I just bought a new '04 disc-brake Rockhopper
and I'm having the most(cycling)fun I've had in years. I
am discovering the joys of the local S. California trails,
and starting to plan a trip to Yellowstone/Tetons later
this year.
I have picked up several punctures over the last few weeks,
which I accept as a normal hazard of the game. I have heard
mention of products which can enhance the 'puncture
resistance' of tires, predominantly I assume to cope with
the thorn and nail type punctures. "Slime" is one of the
product types I have heard about. Another is some kind of
kevlar insert. I would like to have a longer time between
failures, but don't want to ruin tires or tubes trying to
achieve this, so can anyone please advise me if these types
of product are any good?
Thanks
