Puncture prevention - er, not quite!

Well after extolling the virtues of kevlar tyre liners for
puncture prevention, I got my first puncture since they were
put in years ago yesterday. And it was caused by... the
kevlar belt! A nice little semi-circular cut across the tube
matching the profile of the belt end. Oh well, not doubt you
doubting Thomases will draw some satisfaction from that, but
I still think there's been a significant net benefit by
having it in, so I'm not that unhappy. So there! Besides,
I've been running the tyre at a lower pressure than normal
for the last two or three weeks for a softer ride, due to a
shoulder injury, so that might have had something to do with
it. Anyway, it's certainly going back in, with the added
benefit of a thicker layer of rubber (the patch) under
the end now!
