A Misfit Waits for a Second Act

It's a windy chilly January morning here in Washington DC, but this too will pass.

I’m going to hurry up and get myself together so I can find that RECYCLABLE Mountain BICYCLE.

But together seems a long way out!

No job, no car, no place of my own... 40 years-old!

On my best days, I'm here at the Fairfax County public library, looking for FREEdom.

On the worst days, I think of no job, no car, no place of my own.

But my spirit is not broken...

...because the ride to FREEdom is out there...

I know it... transportation a.k.a …RECYCLABLE Mountain BICYCLE

With this faith, we will be able to ride together, to struggle together, to work together...

...knowing that we'll ALL be FREE one day!

    Thank you for your consideration

    I’m @

I’ll pick up the RECYCLABLE Mountain BICYCLE on foot in Arlington or Falls Chuch, Virginia, USA. (near Washington DC)

no job, no house no car, yet you can make it a great distance to pick up a bike :)

I also doubt a homeless person would spend money on an internet cafe (or library computer) trying to claim a "free" bike (which would inevitably be stolen beings you are on the street, and you need to sleep - someone walks by and yoink.) - rather than food and water :)

10 reasons i shouldn't give you my spare bike :)

TOP 10 reasons – Why the world wont give you a bike

    10. You're also bike free

    9. you'll be pollution free without a bike too

    8. One more cyclist – another person that might annoyingly take over me

    7. Greater quality of life for FREE. Its called running.

    6. Glamorization of mountain bikes – i dont care if the brand gets advertised

    5. The Recyclable Bicycle – I might need it when my other bike brakes down

    4. FREEdom to move – bad luck happens to those who dodge cars

    3. I'm Global Warming FREE - indeed you are, and a bike wont make it any better

    2. The best things in life are FREE - But bikes are not the best things in life.

    1. Cause i dont think anyone is actually going to give you a bike anyway. Your attempt seems rather pathetic, sorry.

Your real looney! You should check in a Salvation Army shelter where they house you and help find you a job while you stay there.

How well do do eat everyday when you have to beg for food?

Maybe you should try to get Social Security disability and public housing, if your the type that can't support yourself.

I've actually seen a homeless man in Chicago with a crappy bike.

Will I return as bike, fish or...?

    When we were young,

...we dreamt of what we’d be when we grow up...

    When we grew up,

...we think about what people expected us to be.

But some of us think about our life reincarnate...

Will I return as a bike, fish or...?

    MOBILITY REVOLUTION

We had the Industrial Revolution in the 19th and 20th centuries.

People are moving around much more today than ever.

The relative lack of MOBILITY before the 20th century...

...meant that people tended to stay put in one place!

If people stayed in one place...

...they would be confined to the little “village”.

    Isolation is a dream killer!

How do you kill your dream? ISOLATION

...when it comes to your dreams—nobody makes you do them

    • Your boss makes you come to work
    • Your teacher makes you do your homework
    • Your family makes you bring home the bacon
But when it comes to your dreams—nobody makes you do them
    • You want to take-up gardening
    • You want to visit Baghdad
    • You want to build a SUV Bicycle “The GREEN Hummer Project
    [IMG]

    Those are wishes and dreams.

I’ll tell you my wishes, you tell me yours!

You help me, I help you!

Let’s meet so we can help each other.

Starbucks Coffee shop / Barnes & Noble Bookstore

    @ 7 Corners (Arlington Boulevard [Hwy 50] & Leesburg Pike [Route 7] )

...where there’s also lots of lights, lots of people, lots of space...

...in short... It’s a safe place!

It’s at the border of Arlington County & Fairfax County, Virginia, USA.

Again, before you say: “Your postings still sound a lot like spam or scam!”

    I’ll be wearing a RED WashingtonPost.com cap!

You can’t miss me with RED ! Leave me a time @ [email protected]

If you decide that we can’t start a MOBILITY REVOLUTION together...

We go our separate ways... No hard feelings!

    Virtual familiarity breeds content

Do you feel comfortable because of our relationship on the web is believable?

If you believe it... then IT MUST BE TRUE!

The mind is a powerful thing.

It’s so unlike the thrill of riding off-road... dealing with the unexpected, sudden changes in terrain

    - loose gravel
    - soft surface: sand, snow, mud
    - rocky roads

Just assume everything is ridable until proven otherwise...

    ...innocent until proven guilty!

Sadly, we don’t have the luxury of getting together in the “real” world.

Think of this as the neighborhood coffeehouse, an informal [virtual] gathering!

A virtual gathering is like turning-off the TV’s sound and watching for body language.

It’s a universal language without words.

Virtual gathering gives everyone a chance to meet and greet each other before we get down to some serious freeriding.

So before we freeride, we need a ride.

Do you own anything at all?

    (1) leased car
    (2) mortgaged home
    (3) student loans

You are fed , nursed, and bred for others... WHY?

    You’re not a THING. Are you? You’re a person!!!

You have to find that perfectly happy balance.

Just as in your bike-handling skills...
...finding your balance when trail riding improves your

    (1) strength
    (2) flexibility
    (3) endurance

The problem is that I do not have a mountain bike,

    I just badly need transportation,

a freeride a.k.a. RECYCLABLE MOUNTAIN BICYCLE.

    The moral of the story?

You must begin THE search or you won’t find your people.

Some people leave bikes lying around, they aren't good quality but there you go. Seriously, take a look at the local dumpster and you should find something salvageable. As to life being slippery... yes, it is.

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving”

“There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle.”

If a FREE society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.” JFK

    On January 10, 2007...

The House of Representatives (Congress), not far from where I’m @

...approved a $2.10/hour increase in the minimum wage.

It was $5.15/hour for almost 10 years.

January 10, 2007 was a VERY VERY BIG day for the people of America who

    - clean our toilets
    - sweep our floors
    - pick-up our garbage

...the people who do the hardest work in America.

Are we better off now? Let’s no go there... and say we did!

Let’s start the year 2007 on a good foot!

    It's a new year...

Life isn’t supposed to be an all-or-nothing battle between rich and poor.

Life isn’t supposed to be a battle at all!

Sometimes life is just OKAY, sometimes boring, sometimes wonderful.

When your day’s not perfect, it’s not a failure. It’s just another day!
