I noticed recently, in investigating the q-factor of my
bike, that my pedals were unevenly spaced, i.e. the left
pedal was 2-3 mm further from center than the right. While
2-3mm isn't the end of the world, I'd prefer that they be
symmetric, or at least know why the assymetry exists. I
figure this must be one of two things - either the BB
installation, or the position of the cranks on the tapers -
probably the former.
So I uninstalled my UN-72 BB and noticed that unlike Park's
instructions, where they assume that your BB will have a
fixed flange and a removeable ring - my BB has a fixed ring
and removeable flange.
So a few questions. How do I properly install this BB? Also,
is there allowable left/right adjustment in the
installation, or is there only one proper installation
position (which I assume should be centered within teh
frame)?
