Just this afternoon I was watching an old episode of Ripley's Believe it or Not!, and there was a
man with no face, newly having acquired a prosthetic reconstruction.
What I'm curious about, is the condition that caused this man's face to be removed surgically,
something to do with "bread mold" in the sinus cavity. I think it started with an M, but I can't
remember the term. They said it was believed to be worst than the skin wasting diseases.
Can anyone provide some information or details about this? Is it just normal bread mold that causes
it, or something more specific? Does it affect everyone? The show said it was rare, but does that
mean it's rare in frequency or rare in a person's being succeptible?
