I've got a pair of Dura-Ace DT shifters (SL-7700/9spd) that I'd like to use with an XT rear derailleur and 9spd cassette. The instructions say shifters cannot be used with any rear derailleur other than Dura-Ace. Is that true? Anyone know if they will work with the XT stuff?

It's just Shimano hooey, and they should have ditched that label years ago. It works perfectly with any shimano index capable(SIS) derailer other than a pre9 speed DA. And it even works with them to shift an 8 speed shimano casette with the 9 speed shifters.
