I'm going on a two day ride next weekend and need to get a rack / bag combination to carry stuff. My bike is a ROAD bike, not a touring bike, and I think this means that it's harder to mount a rack on. Is this because there are no holes to screw stuff into or something? Not sure... any advice about that would be appreciated...
Anyway, does anybody have any good suggestions for a rack and bag combo which are good value? I won't be taking much stuff - just a change of clothes and a couple of essentials. It has to be securely mountable onto a road bike, and preferably available for purchase in the UK.
The other option is to use a backpack instead. I hate cycling with a backpack because it stops sweat evaporating from your back. BUT if anyone knows of a good cycling-specific pack that avoids this problem, I'd really appreciate any suggestions you can give me.
