I would like to raise the handle bars on my road bike about 1/2". Are the head set spacers that Performance Bike and others are selling what I need? Does one size fit all? Thanks in advance for any help/direction you all can give me on this.

If you have a threadless headset, you can't add more spacers without getting a new fork. If you have spacers over the stem right now, you can move them to the bottom. Depending on which way your stem is mounted right now, you might be able to flip it over to get some more height. Otherwise you'll need a stem with a different angle.

Thank you for the reply. I am going to have to take a closer look at my bike to see what I can do. I feel like if I can get another 1/2" up front I will have the bike set up just right. From what you have described I will probably be consulting my LBS. They always do a good job for me anyway.

What bike/stem do you have? To move my handle bars up I installed a Nitto Technomatic Stem. You might just need a riser.
