Hi all, just joined this network which seems more than comprehensive!

I wonder if you could help: I've just purchased a Visp Sports 006 which has brake disks/pads. The mechanism and pads are labelled as Artek Vigorous, and I need some new pads for the front wheel. I'm having real trouble sourcing these pads - no-one seems to have heard of them. If you cannot help me source them, can you tell me if it is usually possible to replace the brake mechanism with a more popular brand but for the existing disks?

Try this website for "Artek Vigorous" parts. The manufacturer is APSE Enterprise Co. Ltd. and is Tawainese.

Regardless, brake pads are not specialized items so you could probably use other brands, no need to use "Artek" pads. Bring one of the pads to your LBS and see if they have anything that is compatible in stock or can order a compatible brake pad.
