Which one of those five people did NOT test positive?

    Hint: Rasmussen.

MR missed 4 tests over the last 18 months. Under WADA rules missing 3
is the same as a doping.

If TdF pulled him, you'd have a point. But his employer fired him for
lying to them about which hemisphere he was in.

If the sponsor says pull the rider, then the team will comply.

Remember that De Roy spent the rest day publicly stating that the
team and MR had the full support from the sponsor, and declaring that
Rabobank had been aware of the location of MR in june.
After the Cassani interview ran on Dutch TV the follwing day, where
Cassani witnessed that MR where in Itlay and not in Mexico in june,
the sponsor demanded De Roy to pull him.

All riders train extremely hard, and are performing near the top of their
capabilities. The additional few percent they get from, say a Vino like
"transfusion" makes a big difference. It did for Vino. Seemed like it did
for Landis last year though I don't understand how the type of doping he did
(some sort of testosterone) would help him overnight.

revorery, thestesorone bandages are easy to use and efficient - even
when in competition, you just have to remove the bandage before the
dose exeds whats detectable in current tests.

Yup, that's entirely possible. Nothing about Rasmussen's performance this
year suggests to me that he's doping - it's consistent with his
performance in previous years, except that he has got a little more
confident and a little more comfortable on a time trial bike (which isn't
    very surprising).

He wasn't sacked for doping, he was sacked for lying.

No, he missed one test and got a warning for wherabouts under one
jurstiction, and missed 2 tests under another juristiction. Under WADA
rules 3 warnings/missed tests under the same juristiction and a doping
    case can begin.

    correct.

If cycling want's to clean up, the UCI and all national federations
could begin by publishing all current warnings, start pressuring
the Spanish authorities to publish the complete Fuentes files, publish
all their internal list of which riders are working with "problematic"
doctors - In other words start a regualr witch hunt.

However it doubt any of the above mentioned things will happen, until
then we can just say "bummer" whenever at rider is busted.

And as a follow-up to that, he says today (according to Eurosport this
morning) that he /was/ in Mexico, and not in Italy, when another rider
thought they recognised him in the Dolomites. I don't know whether this is
true or not, but it ought to be possible to check air passenger manifests,
    airport boarding records, etc.

If - I say /if/ - Rasmussen is telling the truth, was in Mexico, and can
prove it, then we really are in a mess.

Okay, that seems likely. The team wouldn't be working for him in the
morning and then pulling him out of the race a few hours later when
they already knew about his whereabouts problem.

The pressure to pull him from the race had to have been external. The
UCI or the sponsor wanting to avoid further embarrassment.

Rasmussen is a compulsive liar, it seems. Not only does he lie about
whom he talked to at the UCI about the late whereabouts notifications
last year, he lies to the press about his whereabouts when he already
confessed to his team that he really was in Italy in June. Does he
expect journalists to not check facts?

Or politicians or we'd run out of dodgy dossiers. Perhaps Astana used a
dodgy dossier instead of a blue cooler box.

Not the UCI, the ASO and the sponsor after watching the response to
    the pressconference tuesday.

People seem to forget the war between ASO and UCI/Protour association.
ASO aims to be a bigger factor in cycling than UCI itself, this week
    they won on points.

What the hell are you talking about? From the comments, Rassmussen was
TRAINING in Italy. I'm sure that he was running physical tests for
    Ferrari
or Cecchini. The real question is did he dope or was he using the world's
foremost training coaches straight up? I tend to believe the former but
nevertheless I still believe that you have to prove a man guilty for him
    to
    be guilty.

    dumbass,

rabobank has the evidence to believe that rasmussen is dirty and
    likely to get caught.

I suggest that you learn to only write what you know about instead of
    inventing your favorite endings.

Nothing wrong with a witch hunt. It's snipe hunts and wild goose chases

Speculation cannot be negated by a press conference.
